An Introduction to iLive
Mix Rack
The MixRack is the heart of the system.

The DSP module is known as the iDR-64. It processes 64 input channels and 32 mix buses. Inputs may be configured as mono or stereo, and the buses in a familiar analogue architecture as any combination of mono or stereo groups, auxes, matrix and a choice of main mix type (mono, stereo, 3way or 4way). The built-in FX add a further 8 stereo returns providing up to 72 sources feeding the mix.

A choice of 4 versions are available. These all use the iDR-64 mix engine and differ only in the number of inputs and outputs available.

The MixRack is controlled using Ethernet. Audio may be sent to/from the surface and other locations via one of the digital audio network options available.

iDR10 is the standard iLive MixRack. It is a modular system in a 9U 19” rack with 10 card slots for loading combinations of audio input and output modules. Each card handles 8 signals. For example, the iDR10 could hold 56 input and 24 output connections, 48 in and 32 out, or be part loaded for smaller systems. One or two power supply modules may be fitted to the rear. The second supply provides redundant backup.

iDR0 is a version of the iDR10 in a compact 2U rack with just the ‘brains’ of the system and no audio IO card options. It is intended for applications where the audio connections are either at the surface or received via a network option, for example a digital mic split in a FOH/Monitor system. The optional iPS10 rack power supply may be connected for redundant backup.

iDR-32 is the smaller of two T Series MixRacks available. It provides a fixed format of 32 mic/line inputs and 16 line outputs. Both T Series racks can process the full 64 channels plus 8 FX and allow connection of remote audio via the Port B network option.

iDR-48 Is the larger T Series MixRack providing 48 mic/line inputs and 24 line outputs.
