The Album Manager

Using the Album Manager:
Access the Album Manager from the Windows menu. The Album Manager allows you to create and manage custom photo albums. When you first open the Album Manager you will not yet have created any albums so the albums popup menu above the list box on the right will be blank and the list will be empty.

To create a new album enter an album name in the field and click the Create button. The name of your new album appears in the popup menu. You can now drag pictures from the file browser list on the left to the album list on the right.

Albums can also be created using existing folders of pictures. To do this click the Import button. Navigate to the desired folder and choose it. A new album will be created using the folder's name as the name of the album. The photos in the folder will be added as members of the new album. NOTE: The original pictures will not be moved. They will remain in their folder at their original location.

Tip: If you have created any albums in iPhoto you can import them into Photologist using the Import button. After clicking the import button, navigate to your Pictures folder, then to the iPhoto Library folder, and then to the Albums folder within the iPhoto Library folder. Within this Albums folder select an album to import and click the Choose button.

Tip: You can add pictures from any number of different folders to an album.

Tip: You can drag thumbnails from the Gallery window to add pictures to an album by selecting the thumbnails in the Gallery window then holding down the Option key when dragging the thumbnails to the album list.

Items in the album list can be reordered by dragging names up or down in the list. The list order represents the order that the photos will be displayed in the Gallery window, in slide shows, in web pages, and in screen savers created with Photologist.

To remove an item from an album select it in the list then click the delete button under the list.

To delete a whole album select it in the popup menu and then click the delete button to the right of the popup menu.

To rename an item in the album list double-click the item.

NOTE: When you rename an album item the new name is not applied to the actual picture file.

To rename an album click the album name icon to the left of the albums popup menu.

Clicking the Batch Rename button allows you to rename all members of an album at one time.
