Positioning tracks on the movie canvas
Each track has a track origin in the lower left corner that specifies where on the canvas the track should be drawn.
Moving the track is basically as easy as clicking and dragging it on the canvas, but there are two things you need to be aware of:
- You need to be in Track editing mode. Otherwise you move the clips within a track instead
- As all values are key framed you need to be aware that you're setting the position at the current time only. If there are other settings at other times they won't be changed.
To position a track:
Click on the Track tab in the Clip/Track tab view at the top left of the window. This will tell the application that you want to edit tracks rather than clips.
Move the time slider to the time where you want to position the track. Or click on a previous timed value to go to that time and alter that value.
- Click and drag a graphic (movie or image) of the track in the movie canvas to the desired position. Or type in the position in the timed value settings.
