Questo aggiornamento risolve due vulnerabilità di sicurezza in Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0, la vulnerabilità "Assente Directory Argomento Browser" e "File frammento di lettura tramite .HTR" vulnerabilità. Installare questo aggiornamento per impedire a un utente malintenzionato di sfruttare queste vulnerabilità per rallentare le prestazioni su un server Web interessato o, in condizioni molto particolari, ottenere il codice sorgente di alcuni tipi di file su un server Web. Un file htr è uno script che gli utenti di Windows NTA possono utilizzare per modificare le password, e che gli amministratori possono utilizzare per eseguire una varietà di funzioni di amministrazione della password. Nessuna di queste vulnerabilità permettono dati da modificare, aggiungere o eliminati sul server e non se ne permettono un controllo amministrativo su un computer interessato.
