Questo aggiornamento risolve il problema di protezione "NetBIOS Name Server Protocol Spoofing" in alcune reti basate su Windows ed è discusso nel Microsoft Security Bulletin MS00-047. Scarica ora per impedire a un utente malintenzionato di un uso improprio dei meccanismi Nome conflitto e il Nome di uscita che fanno parte di Windows Internet Name Service (WINS).
Se un utente malintenzionato sfrutta questa vulnerabilità, Windows 2000 e Windows 4.0 NTA computer non può registrare un nome sulla rete, oppure possono perdere la loro registrazione del nome corrente, rendendo i computer non disponibili come risorse di rete.
