Xkeys consente di aprire applicazioni, file e cartelle semplicemente premendo un tasto funzione. I tasti funzione possono avere sottomenu, estendendo ulteriormente la quantità di elementi che è possibile accedere rapidamente. Xkeys possono essere messi in stand-by, con una combinazione di tasti e è in grado di eseguire AppleScript su richiesta
